Well, here it is....January's quilt block.
Thanks to
It was fairly simple to put together and heck the lady at the quilt store did all the cutting of the strips for me....(which I've decided cutting is my least favorite part of quilting....)
All I had to do was cut the squares and I used the "Thangles" to do all the half square triangles. It was my first time using those and it makes them so much easier.
I always had problems with half square triangles before these things came along....they make quilting life much better. My regular squares are 3" squares and these are the size thangles "the quilt lady" said I needed. :-)
check em out!
you lay your 3" strips on top of each other....using the dark on the bottom and the light on top,
then pin the Thangle on and sew on the dotted lines and then cut on the dark lines.
when you open it up and iron it...voila! you have a half square triangle...wonderful!
check out Dritz's other products and where to find them.
My family brought me this handy little gadget a while back....which gives you an
idea of what a whole quilt would look like made of this block...
it's two mirrors that you set on the edge of your block so you can see it with maybe 4 more blocks added
without having them made yet.
Check for this at ...
My quilt is going to be a sampler quilt...so all my blocks will be different.
this is the pattern I used.
Let me know if you've ever made a quilt of all this block or if you decide to
make one....I'd like to post a pic... :-)
